This company from Concepción, which imports machinery from Sweden, Canada, and Austria, represents several products in the forestry industry, such as grapple skidders and assistance winches, among others. Today, it introduces a new line of equipment.

Since 2015, CBI Chile has represented and distributed the Swedish company SP Maskiner, which has over 40 years of experience manufacturing processor heads. Their main advantage is their price/quality ratio.

Roberto Moncada, manager of CBI Chile, explains: "In Chile, there is a monopoly in terms of processor heads, but there are alternatives like our 761 LF head, weighing 1,800 kg, and the 661 LF, at 1,400 kg, which have been on the global market for 20 years. Generally, customers distrust other brands and end up paying for a brand that often means overpaying. Other high-quality brands have tried to enter this market but with low market share. With the SP brand, customers will find excellent equipment at an excellent price. The price-quality ratio is the best in the market—you get a product capable of doing the same as the competition at a much lower investment cost, about 20% less."

CBI Chile specializes in importing and commercializing forestry machinery, providing solutions to clients who are not in the large contractor segment but rather small and medium-sized ones. "The focus is on a niche that is growing in terms of mechanization because there is no labor force—no people, not even interest in the wages. These are labor market issues. So, there is increasing demand for mechanization to replace the work done by processor heads, which is primarily delimbing and bucking," adds Moncada. "This shift to mechanization has an investment cost, but at the end of the day, you're paying for an asset."

The manager of CBI Chile explains that the processor heads feature very good design and finishes, made with high-quality Swedish steel, and include locally available components. "Spare parts are available in the local market, which is very important and valued by our clients. On the other hand, we put a lot of effort into training operators since they often also serve as mechanics. We focus on the use of the processor head, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and its control system. We ensure they have the tools, understand the manuals to identify part numbers, and can diagnose issues to provide telephone assistance—the fastest way to deliver efficient support."

"The results have been good; there are processor heads for all types of applications. We can supply equipment for most applications depending on tree size. In Constitución, for example, trees tend to be smaller due to rainfall levels, so we have a more versatile unit better suited for these conditions. Further south, they are larger, and we also have equipment for that. We can deliver tailored solutions in terms of equipment capacity and price."
