The businessman also hopes peace can return to the area. His statements come amid President Boric's visit to the Region.
Following President Gabriel Boric's arrival in La Araucanía, forestry contractor Gerardo Cerda spoke with the morning show "Tú Día" about the more than 70 arson attacks that have affected his company. Cerda stated that urgent security agreements must be reached to restore peace to the Region.
"We must seek agreements and bring tranquility back to the Region. Everyone knows what happens in the area, but there is no willingness here to restore order," the businessman stated. He added, "We never have the opportunity to express what is happening, and many people are overlooked out of fear."
It should be noted that the President will meet with local authorities, including parliament members, mayors, the delegate, and the governor. Additionally, he will hold a meeting with victims of rural violence, though it remains unknown who will attend.
