ACOFORAG Survey: The 12 fears and concerns of forestry workers in the southern macrozone (Non-compliance by the State of Chile with ILO CONVENTION 187)
The Association of Forestry Contractors revealed the main fears and concerns of its members, which are:
• Daily fear of attacks in the workplace.
• Risks on the way to the properties.
• Threats against physical integrity.
• Impact on employment status when requiring authorization to enter a property.
• The psychological burden that causes health problems or double presence at work.
• Apprehension upon seeing indigenous flags on the properties.
• Fear that it may become personal and lead to attacks outside of work.
• Fear of being attacked, both in work teams and physically.
• Fear of violent expulsion from the properties.
• Fear on the way to work sites when there are roadblocks due to potential attacks.
• Damage to vehicles and personal belongings.
• Psychological problems associated with the fear of going to work sites.
