A destroyed guard post and a toppled tower were the result of a new attack this Friday in the commune of Chol Chol, in the La Araucanía region.

According to information from Radio Bío Bío, the incident was confirmed this morning and affected Forestal Mininco in the Huamaqui sector.

As a result, a surveillance post was destroyed by fire, while a forest fire monitoring tower was knocked down at the site.

A banner from the ORT Toño Marchante, affiliated with the Arauco Malleco Coordinating Group (CAM), was found at the scene, demanding the release of 4 Mapuche community members facing trial in Los Ángeles.

"Freedom for E. Llaitul, R. Reinao, N. Alcaman, E. Henríquez, and all PPM. Toñito Marchant, we remember you," and "The territory is Mapuche, not the forestry companies'. Transfer I.C Mardones to Temuco," reads the banner.

This is the second confirmed arson attack today, though only this one has been claimed by CAM.

Earlier, it was reported that a group of individuals attacked an estate in the commune of Vilcún, destroying the main house, warehouses, sheds, and machinery.

With these two attacks confirmed this morning, there have been at least four arson incidents recorded in the last three days in the La Araucanía region.

In this regard, CAM has only claimed responsibility for two violent acts: the one that destroyed three forestry trucks on the route between Lumaco and Capitán Pastene on Wednesday, in addition to this latest one affecting Forestal Mininco early this morning.
