Acoforag Values the Conclusion Provided by INDH Report
Regarding the report prepared by the INDH,REPORT ON PERCEIVED VIOLENCE IN THE CENTRAL-NORTHERN MACROZONE – 2023, which highlights the violation of human rights of social and ethnic groups and concludes by stating that the "State is obligated to provide security conditions for all inhabitants of the territory," the Association of Forestry Contractors A.G. states the following:
1.- It has been 10 long years waiting for the State, through its institutions, to uncover a truth well known to us and affecting all inhabitants of the southern macrozone of the country.
2.- There are 46,000 forestry workers and 460 Forestry Contractors affected by this truth, irresponsibly hidden and politically exploited for so long.
3.- That is why we value the conclusion offered by this report, which morally remedies, to some extent, so much loss, pain, and suffering.
4.- We hope that, with this information, the State finally understands that a country cannot be built with part of its territory plunged into violent and terrorist logic, but rather it is its duty to guarantee and provide security conditions so all its inhabitants can work, undertake, and move freely.
