Nine Machines Destroyed After Arson Attack in Vilcún: Unidentified Individuals Intimidated Caretaker and Left Claiming Banners
A new arson attack was reported in the La Araucanía region, when individuals burned nine machines on a property located in the Santa Teresa estate, Vilcún commune.
The First Proceedings Prosecutor, Luis Arroyo, instructed the deployment of the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) from Temuco along with experts from the Criminalistics Laboratory (Lacrim), for the crime of Arson, which occurred in the Quilaco sector, Santa Teresa estate, kilometer 18, Vilcún commune.
According to information provided by the Investigative Police (PDI), around 01:00 hours on Sunday, December 3, an undetermined group of people entered the property and proceeded to set fire to approximately nine pieces of machinery, intimidating the caretaker and leaving messages with claiming slogans.
"In the early hours, the first proceedings prosecutor requested the presence of this brigade to attend the Santa Teresa estate sector, Vilcún commune, where unidentified individuals proceeded to intimidate the estate's caretaker before burning machinery and infrastructure, leaving claiming banners," detailed Subcommissioner Ernesto Carrasco of BIPE Temuco.
