Arson attack on Traiguén estate leaves excavator machine destroyed

A destroyed excavator machine was left behind after a new arson attack in the commune of Traiguén, La Araucanía region.

The incident occurred on Thursday night at an estate in the La Unión area.

As a result, the First Proceedings Prosecutor's Office requested the involvement of the Police Investigations Brigade and the PDI's Criminalistics Laboratory.

"Unknown individuals proceeded to set fire to an excavator, which was carrying out forestry work," stated Inspector Sebastián Vilches.

Additionally, the police officer indicated that "initial proceedings are being carried out, which will be reported to the Prosecutor's Office shortly."
