New incidents linked to so-called rural violence have been recorded in recent hours in the Biobío and La Araucanía regions.

This follows the coordinated attack that took place early Tuesday morning in the Southern Macrozone.

According to preliminary police reports, in Mulchén, Biobío Region, a radical group burned three trucks and a crane on a forestry property located at kilometer 46 of the road to Salto El Rehuén. Following instructions from the Public Prosecutor's Office, personnel from the Investigative Police (PDI) arrived at the scene to begin proceedings. Detectives from the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) in Los Ángeles are investigating the incident.

The individuals used flame-throwing devices and accelerant liquid to set fire to the cabins of the vehicles. Later, they left the area in a vehicle and left a banner claiming responsibility for the attack.

The acting regional presidential delegate of Biobío, Humberto Toro, stated that possible courses of action are being analyzed.

"We are conducting an analysis with legal advisors, which we usually do following this type of attack, and we are also coordinating with the Provincial Delegation. We are contacting those affected to better understand what happened," he said.

On the other hand, last night in Ercilla, La Araucanía Region, gunshots were reported in front of a Carabineros station.

According to reports from the uniformed police, the sound of gunfire was heard. There are no injuries, and potential damage to the station must still be verified.
