Arson attack in Pidima leaves truck destroyed: videos capture witnesses' desperation

Three individuals carrying firearms intercepted and burned a truck traveling along Route 5, near Pidima in the La Araucanía region. The assailants were driving a red pickup truck at the time of the attack.
Those involved forced the driver out of the vehicle, leaving him injured but not seriously. Additionally, a second driver was reported to have suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
It was confirmed that the driver is from Los Ángeles and is a member of the South-Central Truckers Confederation. According to reports, he did not sustain serious injuries.
Furthermore, a second truck was reported to have been attacked with firearms, leaving its driver wounded in one of his shoulders.
North-to-south traffic is intermittently disrupted due to the incident, as OS-9 of Carabineros and Labocar are working at the scene to identify those responsible for this arson attack.
Witnesses observed and recorded the exact moment of the attack. The footage shows a large column of smoke and flames coming from the truck in the middle of Route 5.
The attack occurred in the same location where government authorities and the National Defense Headquarters had assured there would be reinforced military and police surveillance, including both Carabineros and the PDI.
