Hooded Men Threaten Drivers and Burn Two Trucks on Route to Tirúa

Hooded individuals ambushed two trucks on the route to Tirúa, in the Bío Bío region,forcing the drivers to exit their vehicles before setting them on fire.

The incident occurred specifically at kilometer 5.3 of the P-742 route, a road connecting the town ofCanihual with the urban area of Tirúa,in the province of Arauco.

The perpetrators fled the scene after carrying out this latest arson attack.

Following this, Carabineros personnel confirmed their presence at the location, gathering all relevant details about the violent incident.

Later, the presidential delegate of Arauco,Humberto Toro,commented that the event took place around 9:30 PM.

"There, two trucks transporting wood briefly stopped in Canihual Bajo. That’s where they were approached by at least five hooded individuals," he stated.

"They intimidated them and then proceeded to burn both vehicles before fleeing. Despite this, the owners of these trucks in Tirúa are unharmed, even though shots were fired into the air," he added.

Finally, it was detailed that firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames and that the corresponding investigations will be handled by police personnel.
