Two drivers injured and a truck burned in armed attack south of Ercilla
Two drivers injured by pellets were left after an armed attack that occurred on Wednesday night on Route 5 South in the commune of Ercilla, in the La Araucanía region.
Specifically, this took place in the town of Pidima, south of the commune of Ercilla.
According to Carabineros, armed assailants burned a truck near kilometer 582, while simultaneously, it was reported that at kilometer 578, heading south, there was a driver with pellet wounds to the neck and left arm, who was transported to Collipulli Hospital.
In addition to this incident, another alert was received, reporting that in the rest area near kilometer 596 on Route 5 South, a second driver had pellet injuries on the left side of his body. He was referred to Victoria Hospital, out of life-threatening danger.
Uniformed personnel confirmed that a banner was found at the site of the arson attack, while the on-duty prosecutor assigned Labocar to conduct the corresponding forensic examinations, with the investigation to be carried out by OS-9.
It should be recalled that the Senate Chamber approved on Tuesday the extension of the State of Constitutional Emergency in the Southern Macrozone, specifically in the regions of La Araucanía and the provinces of Arauco and Bío Bío.
