One Person Shot in RMM Attack in Victoria During Minister Tohá's Visit to La Araucanía
One person was shot, and machinery and sheds were destroyed in an arson attack by the Mapuche Malleco Resistance (RMM) in the commune of Victoria.
This occurred during Interior Minister Carolina Tohá's visit to the La Araucanía region as part of a business meeting.
A group of 10 RMM members arrived at the property in the Inspector Fernández area, where they intimidated the family and then set fire to facilities, including three sheds and agricultural machinery.
Additionally, one of the owners was shot in the leg during the violent incident. The injured farmer was taken to Victoria Hospital.
The Mapuche Malleco Resistance left a pamphlet stating there will be no peace in La Araucanía until detained community members are transferred to Angol prison.
The attackers felled trees to block the road to the property, hindering police response.
Carabineros reported they are conducting investigations to identify those responsible for the arson attack.
