Senapred activates SAE Alert in Quilpué as wildfire threatens to spread; residents urged to evacuate risk zones.

A large-scale wildfire has broken out in the La Retuca sector of Quilpué, prompting the mobilization of multiple fire companies across the region. The rapidly spreading fire has consumed approximately two hectares along Route F-50, also known as Lo Orozco Road, a crucial thoroughfare connecting inland communes of the Valparaíso Region with Route 68.

The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) has issued an Emergency Alert System (SAE) alert for the evacuation of several sectors due to the imminent danger of fire spread. Specific areas under evacuation orders include Fundo Los Molles, Los Perales, Tranque Los Molles, and La Retuca.

The emergency occurs amid adverse weather conditions, as the Valparaíso Region is experiencing high temperatures and strong winds, complicating fire containment efforts. The National Forestry Corporation (Conaf) has reported that three hectares of vegetation have been affected so far. In response, three air tankers, two helicopters, and five ground brigades have been deployed to combat the flames.

Quilpué Mayor Valeria Melipillán has stated that the preventive evacuation was ordered due to the fire's "rapid advance" and confirmed that no homes have been reported damaged so far. Additionally, traffic on Lo Orozco Road has been disrupted due to the fire.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and work tirelessly to control the wildfire. Residents are urged to stay informed through official channels and follow all evacuation instructions to ensure their safety.
