Regarding the new attack on a forestry contractor that occurred yesterday, November 12, in the commune of Lautaro, La Araucanía Region, the Association of Forestry Contractors A.G. states the following:

.- We inform the country that in the southern macrozone (from the Biobío to Los Lagos regions) and since 1997, there have been terrorist groups that attack and destroy the work of small and medium-sized forestry entrepreneurs.

.- For 27 years, the Chilean State has been negligent, incapable, indifferent, and complicit in the advancement of these armed groups in those territories.

.- Today, despite nearly three years of an emergency state of exception in place in the Biobío and La Araucanía regions, violent incidents continue to occur, destroying private property, formal employment, and deterring investment in these regions.

.- The experience of these 27 years of violence shows us that without the rule of law and without governments and State institutions with convictions, these violent groups will continue to be shielded, and we will not be able to keep contributing our work to the development of the regions and the country.
