Rodrigo Jara, Regional Director of CONAF Bío Bío, submitted his resignation after 13 years with the institution and nearly 3 years in the directorship.

Consequently, the executive leadership appointed forestry engineer Alberto Bordeu as interim regional director in his place.

In an interview with Radio Biobío, he stated that his reasons were personal and that he leaves grateful to CONAF and those who supported him. "It was two years and eight months, during which I served as regional director, a time in which I believe we accomplished significant institutional strengthening. I am stepping away for personal reasons and simply want to thank all the national authorities who supported the institution, which obviously also meant backing for my management," Jara affirmed.

In a statement, CONAF's Executive Director, Aída Baldini, expressed regret over the decision and thanked him for his excellent work during his 13 years with the institution, highlighting his commitment and professionalism.

Before assuming the regional directorship in April 2022, he held various roles, primarily related to forest diversification with small and medium landowners and in forest oversight.
