Acoforag Claims La Araucanía Suffers Normalization of Terrorist Activity
In light of the brutal and regrettable attack on a forestry contractor that occurred this morning, November 8, in the commune of Nueva Imperial, La Araucanía Region—which destroyed 9 pieces of work equipment and eliminated jobs at a forestry operation—the Association of Forestry Contractors states the following:
1.- This year alone, we have suffered 25 attacks against small and medium-sized forestry entrepreneurs, 20 of which have occurred in La Araucanía, even under a state of emergency.
2.- We are witnessing a normalization of terrorist activity in this part of the country, where destroyed equipment, asset losses, and formal jobs become part of the inventory of destruction that has plagued the region for 27 years, with ups and downs, without a real solution.
3.- Today, fear and insecurity on the roads and in rural work are permanent conditions, which unfortunately have left La Araucanía with high unemployment rates, extreme poverty, and zero investment.
4.- Without security, legal certainty, and a weak rule of law, there can be no growth or development.
