CAM Member Arrested Again for Arson Attack That Destroyed 2 Trucks in Quilleco
According to the investigation, the individual, along with others, stopped a truck, sprayed accelerant fluid on the cabin, and set it on fire, completely destroying the vehicle.
A member of the Arauco Malleco Coordinating Group (CAM) was arrested again for his alleged involvement in the burning of two trucks that occurred on October 13, 2023, on Route Q-45 in Quilleco, in the Bío Bío region.
The suspect is Axel Cristóbal Campos Vivallos, who was arrested in Lumaco by detectives from the Special Police Investigations and Anti-Kidnapping Brigade (Bipe) of the Investigative Police (PDI).
According to the investigation, on the aforementioned date, the individual, along with others, stopped a truck, sprayed accelerant fluid on the cabin, and set it on fire, completely destroying the vehicle.
Following the incident, five people were arrested and brought to justice, all of whom were placed in preventive detention. However, due to an appeal by the Public Defender's Office, two of them were released.
Later, after a motion filed by the Public Prosecutor's Office, an arrest warrant was issued and executed in Lumaco.
The head of the Special Police Investigations and Anti-Kidnapping Brigade (BIPE) of the PDI in this city, Commissioner René Robles, reported that the arrest of the accused for the crime of arson causing damage was carried out.
Finally, Campos was placed under the precautionary measure of preventive detention.
It should be noted that on the day of the attack, Bastián Andrés Llaitul Vergara, Roberto Alejandro Garling Infanta, Óscar Hernán Cayupán Calfín, and José Ignacio Lienqueo Márquez were also arrested in flagrante delicto.
