The Government stated that this is a situation under constant review, taking into account the security and development of the provinces under this measure.

The Association of Forestry Contractors, represented by its manager, René Muñoz, expressed its opposition to a potential de-escalation of the State of Emergency in the provinces of Arauco and Biobío, arguing that violent groups still operate in the area.

He stated that the measure should remain in place until it is confirmed that violent groups have been dismantled, allowing productive activities to resume. "Attempting to de-escalate without offering different conditions, where industrial activity can recover, forestry activity can recover—we believe these conditions do not make ending the state of emergency advisable," he affirmed.

A potential de-escalation of the State of Emergency in effect in the provinces of Arauco and Biobío, due to the decline in violent incidents in recent months, has left some trade unions whose members work in these areas dissatisfied.

José Miguel Stegmeier, from the Agricultural Society of Biobío, shared Muñoz's opinion, stating that conditions are not right to end the State of Emergency, let alone reduce its coverage, as it would only allow violence to persist.

The Presidential Delegate in the Biobío region, Eduardo Pacheco, insisted that violent incidents have decreased and that members of radical groups have been arrested. However, the possibility of reducing the intensity of the State of Emergency is assessed daily, he concluded.

The Association of Municipalities of the Province of Arauco indicated that they will not issue an opinion for now, as they will hold a meeting this Thursday to adopt a common stance on ending or at least de-escalating the State of Emergency.
