Rapid forensic analysis by Labocar of Carabineros led to the arrest of three individuals believed to be responsible for one of the forest fires that occurred in the O'Higgins Region yesterday. This took place on a day when the Presidential Delegation had declared a Red Alert for 32 communes, indicating conditions were favorable for the outbreak and spread of fires.

The incident occurred in San José de Marchigüe, where a fire broke out affecting several hectares and properties. According to prosecutor Gabriel Meza, the fire originated from improper handling of electrical wiring, for which three individuals are believed to be responsible.

Labocar personnel were able to confirm this, leading to the detainees being placed at the disposal of the judiciary.

The firefighting efforts in San José de Marchigüe yesterday involved five forest brigades, one helicopter, one tanker plane, and firefighters.
