Municipality of San Pedro de La Paz Purchases Forestal Arauco Offices and Will Have a New Home by 2025

The Municipality of San Pedro de La Paz will have a new city hall building in the second half of 2025. This follows the signing of a series of agreements that will allow the sale of the historic Forestal Arauco offices on Los Canelos Street to the municipal administration.

The purchase was made with funds from the Regional Government, amounting to nearly 10 billion pesos, so that Desarrollo País can oversee the startup and preparation of the new municipal building. This was explained by the board president, Luz Granier.

Outgoing Mayor Javier Guíñez highlighted the opportunity to keep various departments, which have been working separately since the commune was established in the mid-90s, in the same location.

Meanwhile, Mayor-elect Juan Pablo Spoerer (Evópoli) hopes the timeline will be met to provide better service to the community.

Overall, work is expected during the first half of the year to prepare the infrastructure to accommodate staff and serve the public.

Meanwhile, the building should be operational and functioning as the new municipality of San Pedro de La Paz by the first part of the second half of the year.
