An unidentified group set fire to machinery at an aggregates company in Lautaro, causing significant material damage.

In the early hours of this Friday, the tranquility of the town of Pillanlelbun was disrupted by an arson attack that affected the aggregates company Llaima. The incident resulted in the destruction of valuable machinery, including two excavators and a generator. Authorities investigated the event, which has not been claimed by any group.

Commissioner Jorge Chavarria, from the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) of Temuco, confirmed that the investigative team arrived at the scene at the request of the Prosecutor's Office to gather evidence. The work is being carried out in collaboration with the Forensic Laboratory in an effort to clarify the facts and identify those responsible.

Daniela San Martín, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office, stated that no messages or banners were found that could point to the perpetrators of the attack. Additionally, she noted that the property lacked adequate security measures, which may have facilitated the criminal act. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack, and the investigation remains ongoing.

This incident adds to a series of similar attacks that have affected the region in recent times, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and concern among business owners and residents of La Araucanía. Authorities have increased their presence in the area and continue working to ensure security and prevent future attacks.
