  • A new episode of violence shakes the commune of Vilcún with the destruction of forestry machinery and buildings at Fundo Clementina.

In an act of violence that has shocked the Vilcún community, at least four forestry machines, a shed, a cabin, and a warehouse were consumed by flames in an arson attack. The incident took place at Fundo Clementina, located in the Metto Mirador sector, deep in the mountains, near kilometer 11 of Route S-323.

The incident was reported around 10:00 AM this Monday when a farm worker alerted authorities about the fire. According to their testimony, a 150-square-meter shed housing three tractors was completely destroyed. Additionally, a forestry crane, an 80-square-meter furnished cabin, and a 40-square-meter warehouse were also affected by the fire.

The local prosecutor's office reported that two banners were found at the scene with messages demanding the release of Luis Tranamil, Miguel Llanquileo, Eric Montoya, and others referred to as "Mapuche political prisoners," as well as the withdrawal of forestry companies from the region. These elements could point to the motivations behind the attack, though the identity of the perpetrators has not yet been confirmed.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the attack. The prosecutor's office has delegated the investigation to the Special Police Investigations Brigade (Bipe) and the Forensic Laboratory of the Investigative Police (PDI), who are already working on-site to clarify the circumstances and find those responsible.

This incident adds to a series of similar attacks that have affected the region in recent times, creating an atmosphere of tension and concern among residents and authorities. The government and security forces are under pressure to respond effectively and prevent future acts of violence.

The Vilcún community and the affected sectors await justice and concrete measures to ensure safety and peaceful coexistence in the area. Meanwhile, the investigation continues, and more details about this unfortunate event are expected in the coming days.
