Arson attack in Lumaco leaves forestry truck destroyed

In an act of violence that disrupted the night's tranquility, a truck was set ablaze in the La Araucanía region, specifically on the route connecting Lumaco with Los Sauces. The attack, carried out by at least four hooded individuals, occurred at kilometer 8 of the route, leaving the vehicle completely destroyed, though fortunately, the driver was unharmed.

The incident took place when the group intercepted the truck, forcing the driver to stop and exit the vehicle before setting it on fire. Despite reports of gunfire in the area, provided by another truck driver, this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

Personnel from the Carabineros of the Los Sauces commune quickly responded to the incident, securing the area and beginning preliminary investigations. Specialists are expected to arrive, along with instructions from the Public Prosecutor's Office, to conduct the necessary examinations that clarify the details of the attack and identify those responsible.
