  • A violent arson attack in the La Araucanía region leaves at least three forestry machines destroyed with no reported injuries.

In an act of violence that shattered the calm of Saturday night, at least three forestry machines were consumed by flames on a property located in the Bajo Mate y Sánchez sector of the La Araucanía region. According to preliminary reports from Radio Biobío, a group of individuals stormed the worksite of Forestal Los Notros, firing shots into the air before proceeding to set the equipment ablaze.

The incident, which left no one injured, has sparked a wave of concern in the local community and the forestry sector. Authorities have yet to determine the exact number of attackers involved in the event, which has put residents of Carahue and surrounding areas on alert.

The Prosecutor's Office has ordered the intervention of Labocar and Carabineros' OS-9 to investigate the scene and gather evidence that could lead to the identification and capture of those responsible for this arson attack.

The situation in La Araucanía remains tense, as this is not the first incident of its kind in the region. Attacks on property and forestry machinery have been a recurring problem, leading to increased security measures and calls from authorities and the industry for solutions to ensure peace and security in the area.

Meanwhile, the community awaits answers and effective measures to prevent future acts of violence that threaten the safety and livelihoods of forestry workers and the general population.
