  • During the activity organized by SAG at Millahue School in Tomé, the children learned about the institution's work and the importance of protecting this natural resource.

An entertaining game about native forest care was presented by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Biobío, along with teachers from Millahue School in Tomé, to the students of the institution. The goal was to instill in the younger generations the value and responsibility of protecting this vital natural resource.

The game, titled "Let's Take Care of Our Native Forest!", consists of a board and a set of illustrated tiles. It was developed by SAG in collaboration with the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP), encouraging children to reflect on how forest health is linked to the preservation of the planet.

Laughter and Learning
The event was attended by the acting Regional Minister of Agriculture, Fabiola Lara; the Regional Director of SAG, Roberto Ferrada; and the school's principal, Miguel Mella. They highlighted the educational value of this material in helping children understand the importance of protecting plant and animal health.

"Today, the preschool children learned about the importance of caring for native forests, preserving their species, and also discussing ways to protect our natural heritage here in the commune of Tomé," emphasized the acting Regional Minister of Agriculture, Fabiola Lara.

Meanwhile, the Regional Director of SAG Biobío, Roberto Ferrada, explained that this educational material aims to facilitate knowledge, skills, and attitudes that contribute to sustainable development.

"Additionally, the children can learn about the importance of the daily work carried out by our inspectors. As a Service, we want to help shape responsible and committed future citizens," he stated.

The principal of Millahue School, Miguel Mella, thanked the initiative and praised the educational material.

Over the past ten years, SAG, alongside other institutions, has developed educational materials for teachers, children, and their families. These include the story "The Living Soil and the Traveling Earthworms" and the video series "Stories of Our Wildlife," among other free resources available at www.sag.cl.
