Carabineros Officers Injured in Clash During Operation in La Araucanía

In a violent incident that occurred on Sunday morning, two Carabineros officers were injured while responding to an emergency call on Route 35, kilometer 8, in the La Araucanía region.
The uniformed officers, who were responding to a brawl in a local community, were assaulted with stones and sticks, sustaining injuries that required immediate medical attention.
Commander César Leiva, service prefect of the Malleco Prefecture, reported that the Carabineros personnel were met with aggression upon arriving at the conflict site. The attacks included the throwing of blunt objects and gunfire, as well as roadblocks, forcing the officers to follow established security protocols for such situations.
One of the officers, belonging to the Drone Section, suffered a forehead injury from a stone throw, while a member of the 2nd COP "Pailahueque" Police Station was injured in the hand by a stick blow. Despite the availability of air transport for evacuation, both were taken by a SAMU ambulance to Collipulli Hospital and later transferred to Angol Hospital for treatment. It has been confirmed that both are stable and out of life-threatening danger.
So far, no arrests have been reported in connection with the attack on the Carabineros officers. Authorities continue investigations to clarify the facts and identify those responsible for the assaults.
