Forestry Company Los Notros Suffers Another Attack
- Workers were assaulted at gunpoint and stripped of vehicles and tools in a concerning episode of rural insecurity.
In an alarming act of rural violence, workers from the forestry company Los Notros were victims of an armed robbery on Friday morning. According to exclusive sources from Radio Imperio, the incident occurred at the La Cabaña estate, located in the Matte y Sánchez Bajo sector, about 15 kilometers from the town of Trovolhue in the Carahue district.
Three forestry employees preparing to start their workday were intercepted by masked individuals armed with firearms, who forced them out of their Nissan Pathfinder pickup truck and a motorcycle, in addition to stealing various forestry tools.
After being intimidated and forced to lie on the ground, the workers managed to escape to safety and alerted the Carahue police and their superiors, triggering a large-scale police operation involving Carabineros from various units and the OS-9. Despite the efforts, authorities from the Presidential Delegation and Carabineros have not provided statements or details about this new criminal incident.
This is not the first incident affecting Los Notros, as weeks ago they suffered a similar attack in which machinery was set on fire by antisocial individuals. The affected workers, still shaken by the event, have requested to keep their identities and additional details confidential, refusing to give interviews.
As of the closing of this report, it has been reported that Carabineros managed to recover one of the stolen vehicles, but the tools and other stolen items have not yet been found, and no arrests have been reported.
The growing violence in rural areas is a concerning trend that jeopardizes the safety and well-being of forestry workers and poses serious challenges for authorities in terms of preventing and responding to these crimes.
