Third-year high school students from a school in Los Ángeles, Bío Bío region, won first place in an international competition for creating a robot that detects underground fires.

The team consists of Anahy, Ashley, and Aran, students from the electricity elective at Liceo Bicentenario de Excelencia Tecnológico El Huertón in Los Ángeles.

They won first place at the event held in Brazil, where they competed against 193 innovative projects from different countries, taking home the top prize with their creation.

Regarding the origin of the invention called "Silent Fire," Anahy Inostroza mentioned that it stemmed from an experience one of her fellow creators went through.

Anahy's twin sister, Ashley Inostroza, explained the robot's components and how it operates. These include a caterpillar track system, cooling system, thermal sensors, and sprinklers.

Aran Cabeza Poblete, a student at the school and also a creator of the project, stated that its main goal is to save lives and prevent the spread of fires.

Meanwhile, Marcos Hanssen, the director of the Los Ángeles school, expressed his pride in the students and emphasized that their role as mentors is to foster their students' development.

At the Paula Souza Center Technological Fair, attended by thousands of students from different countries presenting their community-helping projects, Liceo El Huertón took first place with the "Silent Fire" robot.
