  • Carabineros de Chile is investigating an alleged arson attack on a farm in Lautaro that left an excavator completely destroyed.

Specialized personnel from Carabineros de Chile are carrying out procedures to clarify the facts of a possible arson attack that occurred on Tuesday night at Fundo Miraflores, located in the commune of Lautaro, La Araucanía region. An excavator belonging to Constructora Santa Fé was found completely destroyed, while another machine suffered partial damage.

The incident, which took place on route S-225 connecting to Vilcún, is being investigated for possible involvement of third parties. The commander of the Lautaro Fire Department, Claudio Paredes, reported that upon arrival at the scene, no banners or signs were found that could indicate the attack was carried out by any radical organization known to operate in the area.

The Presidential Delegate, José Montalva, stated that the lack of witnesses to the incident represents an additional difficulty for the investigation. This is not the first incident of this kind at Fundo Miraflores; on June 11, armed individuals entered the property, threatened staff, and proceeded to set machinery on fire.

The situation in the La Araucanía region has been a cause for concern due to repeated acts of violence and attacks on private property. Authorities have intensified security measures and investigations to identify those responsible and prevent future incidents.

The local community and owners of farms and businesses affected by these acts are demanding an effective and long-term solution to ensure security and the rule of law in the region. Meanwhile, Carabineros de Chile and other government entities continue working to clarify the facts and capture those responsible for these criminal acts.
