  • Three machines destroyed in a violent nighttime attack in the La Araucanía region; authorities investigate the incident.

In the early hours of this Sunday, an estate owned by the CMPC holding, located in the commune of Carahue, was the target of an arson attack that resulted in the destruction of three machines.

The incident, which took place on Route S-46, kilometer 6, was reported by a night watchman at the property, who alerted authorities after hearing gunshots and noticing the fire.

Teams from Carabineros and Army personnel, who are in the area due to the ongoing State of Constitutional Exception, arrived at the scene to assess the damage. The affected machinery was rendered completely unusable, dealing a severe blow to the estate's operations.

The Public Ministry has taken action, delegating the investigation to specialized units such as the OS9 and the Forensic Laboratory (Labocar). Despite efforts, the perpetrators and motives behind this violent act remain unidentified.

This incident adds to a series of similar attacks that have affected the La Araucanía region in recent times, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and tension among residents and businesses operating in the area.

Authorities have called for calm and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure security and apprehend those responsible for the attack. Meanwhile, the community awaits answers and long-term solutions to restore peace and order in the region.
