The Biobío Prosecutor's Office ordered the formal indictment of another detainee for their involvement in the attack on the Grollmus family and their historic mill, which occurred on August 29, 2022, in Contulmo.

On December 13, six individuals linked to the Mapuche Lavkenche Resistance (RML) were arrested for their participation in the attack and were formally charged, along with five other group members already in custody for other incidents.

Consequently, on December 17, the Cañete Guarantee Court imposed pretrial detention on nine RML members and provisional internment on two adolescents. The Public Prosecutor's Office charged them as perpetrators of three counts of arson, two counts of attempted aggravated homicide, and completed crimes of violent robbery, illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition, and unjustified shootings.

Marcela Cartagena, the Biobío regional prosecutor, explained that this twelfth suspect should have been arrested during the December 13 operation.

"Yesterday, this person—who had an arrest warrant for being a participant in these events—was detained and will be brought before the Cañete Guarantee Court today. They will undergo a hearing, be formally charged, and face precautionary measures warranted by the severity of the case," the prosecutor stated.
