Four trucks and a pickup were burned by unknown individuals in Los Álamos in the early hours of New Year's Day. The arson attack was later claimed by the radical group, Weichán Auca Mapu.

In response to this new act of violence, the association of forestry contractors issued a strong statement questioning the performance of the state powers and accusing them of lacking the courage to combat the advance of terrorism in the Southern Macrozone.

René Muñoz, manager of Acoforag, stated that "it is the State with its three branches—political, judicial, and executive—that has the will but lacks the courage to act, leaving the Southern Macrozone mired in underdevelopment, lack of growth, lack of investment, and lack of employment."

Corma in the Biobío and Ñuble regions, through its president Alejandro Casagrande, said they hope the perpetrators of these attacks are found, as they not only endanger lives but also the productive activities of the area.

From the government, the presidential delegate, Eduardo Pacheco, defended against the criticism, stating that the State as a whole has achieved significant successes, such as the capture of members of the Mapuche Lafkenche Resistance who attacked the Grollmus Mill.

The statement from the forestry contractors also adds that it is the state powers that have left the Province of Arauco living in an abnormal situation and accused them of lacking political will to dismantle the gangs operating in the area.
