Forestry Contractors: "The State lacks the political will to go further and dismantle these terrorist gangs"
In light of the terrorist attacks that occurred on Friday, December 27, 2024, in La Araucanía and yesterday, January 1, 2025, in the province of Arauco, the Association of Forestry Contractors A.G. states the following:
1.- Despite the declining numbers that current authorities boast about, one truth becomes evident: the State lacks the political will to go further and dismantle these terrorist gangs, which continue to operate persistently.
2.- It is the State, politicians, the government, and the Judiciary that have kept us submerged in an "abnormal normality," without making decisive changes once and for all to alter the daily lives of those of us living in the southern regions.
3.- In the southern macro-zone, the State has condemned us to coexist with terrorist violence that hinders the growth of these regions, increases unemployment, and drives away investments.
4.- We need authorities, politicians, and judges with courage and a vision for the country to eradicate armed violence from our territory. Unfortunately, what we have today is not enough.
