PDI arrests three individuals for timber theft in Los Ríos region: truck and chainsaw seized

The Investigative Police arrested three men caught stealing timber from a forestry property in the commune of Corral, Los Ríos region.
Specifically, the capture of the three individuals took place in the Futa sector. According to the PDI, they routinely entered properties in the area to commit this crime.
Subprefect Cristián Muñoz, from the specialized timber theft unit under the PDI's Criminal Investigation Brigade (Bicrim), stated that after committing the theft, the offenders transported the wood to Valdivia to sell it.
Muñoz specified that the stolen timber was of the eucalyptus species. In addition to the stolen wood, the PDI seized a Nissan Terrano truck and a chainsaw, with a total estimated value exceeding 5 million pesos.
The three individuals were placed at the disposal of the Valdivia Guarantee Court for their detention hearing and subsequent formal charges.
