The Chilean Meteorological Directorate issued two alerts for extreme high-temperature events that will affect various areas of the country from the afternoon of Monday, January 27, until the afternoon of Wednesday, January 29.

The first of these alerts was issued at 9 AM this Monday by the Agricultural Meteorology section of MeteoChile. It indicated that, due to the influence of a surface cyclonic circulation combined with easterly airflow, a significant rise in maximum temperatures is expected between Coquimbo and Bío Bío, with highs of up to 39°C.

Meanwhile, the second alert, issued at 11 AM this Monday as part of the general city forecast, is attributed to the presence of an upper-level ridge. It will mainly impact the regions of O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, and Bio Bío, covering the coastal mountain range, valleys, and foothills, with highs of up to 37°C.
