Individual who caused forest fire in Lautaro remanded in preventive custody

The Guarantee Court of Lautaro ordered the preventive detention of D.A.O.C., accused as the perpetrator of the crime of forest fire in a rural area of the commune.
The incident allegedly occurred around 11:20 p.m. on January 7, 2025, when the accused, near kilometer 3 of Route S-15 in the commune of Lautaro, used a lighter to set fire at three separate points, causing a blaze that affected one hectare of eucalyptus trees and grasslands, according to the Public Ministry.
Thus, during the formal hearing (case file No. 42-2025), Judge Eduardo Pérez Yáñez ordered D.A.O.C. to be held at the Lautaro Penitentiary Compliance Center, deeming that the accused's release would pose a danger to society's safety.
Additionally, the investigation period was set at three months.
