The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a US$30 million loan aimed at strengthening Chile's construction sector, promoting its growth, productivity, and sustainability through the adoption of industrialized methods based on timber use.

The financing is part of the "Support Program for Sustainable Construction," the fourth within the Conditional Credit Line for Investment Projects (Cclip) approved in 2022. Its execution will be managed by Corfo, which will lead the implementation of the plan in at least seven regions of the country: Valparaíso, O'Higgins, Maule, Ñuble, Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, and Los Lagos.

The initiative will benefit companies in the timber construction value chain, as well as training centers, research institutions, and financial entities, promoting efficiency, inclusion, and innovation in the sector. The program includes public guarantees to facilitate access to financing, with a special focus on women-led companies and those with diverse workforces.

Additionally, the plan will drive technological modernization, the adoption of technical standards, and the strengthening of digital capabilities to advance towards a more competitive and sustainable industry.

The loan has an amortization term of 23.5 years, a grace period of seven years, and an interest rate based on SOFR (3.93%) as of November 7, 2025.
