The event, organized by the Regional Government, Conaf, Aprobosque, the Forest Institute (Infor), and FCS Forests For Everyone Forever, brought together various public and private stakeholders in a joint effort to strengthen sustainable forest management, highlight its ecological and productive value, and foster ongoing collaboration.

The agreement commits the institutions to continue developing joint actions, systematize learnings and conclusions, and maintain information exchange to consolidate policies and practices for sustainable forest management. The summit, held at the Infor Los Ríos headquarters, included exhibitions and expert panels discussing national experiences, local realities, and challenges for efficient and responsible native forest management.

Regional Governor Luis Cubertino emphasized the importance of holding the first summit in Los Ríos, considering it a sign of revaluing native forests and a potential driver of changes in public policies. Sandra Gacitúa, executive director of Infor, stressed the importance of sustainable forest management and recognizing the multiple benefits provided by native forests.

José Cárter, president of Aprobosque and the Los Ríos Regional Forest Board, highlighted the collaborative nature of the summit and the support from the Regional Government. Arnoldo Shibar, regional director of Conaf, valued the high participation and interest in improving public policies, particularly the native forest law.

The Native Forest Summit in Los Ríos represents a significant step toward territorial coordination and building a sustainable perspective for Chile's forest heritage, paving the way for new collaborations and policies that reinforce its conservation and future projection.
