A delegation of ten members from the Mulchén Fire Department's Forest Group traveled to Pucón to participate in the Urban-Forest Interface Seminar, an event that brought together specialized teams from various parts of the country and abroad.

The delegation, led by Captain and group leader Juan Beltrán Meza, shared working sessions with representatives from Bariloche, Valdivia, Curarrehue, La Unión, Melipeuco, Junín, Pitrufquén, Vilcún, Toltén, Puerto Saavedra, Carahue, and Freire, strengthening operational collaboration in an increasingly challenging scenario for the southern regions of the country.

The meeting allowed for updating technical knowledge and deepening strategies for combating interface zone fires, a type of emergency that has been on the rise in recent years. For Mulchén Fire Department, this event directly integrates into their professionalization process.

According to the institution's report to Diario La Tribuna, participation in this seminar is part of the path to accredit the Third Company as a Forest Company with the National Operations Service (SNO), a process that requires specialized courses, technical requirements, regulated equipment, and medical evaluations, ensuring that each volunteer has the necessary capabilities to operate in high-demand scenarios.

The fire department highlights that Mulchén is positioning itself as one of the first in the Biobío province to advance towards this accreditation. The goal is clear: raise standards, improve response capacity, and establish itself as a regional reference in forest emergencies. Once accredited, the group may be requested to support operations in other municipalities and even in different areas of the region.

Captain Juan Beltrán Meza valued the training opportunity, emphasizing that these sessions "are essential to keep us updated and prepared." Additionally, he thanked the invitation extended by the Pucón Fire Department and congratulated each member of his team for the commitment shown during the process.
