Puerto Varas Launches Plant That Will Accelerate Housing Construction

In an event that marks a milestone for the construction industry in Chile, an industrialized construction plant was inaugurated in Puerto Varas, with the presence of national and regional authorities. The new Tecno Fast facility, with an investment of 15 million dollars, aims to increase the productive capacity of the south of the country, generate around 100 jobs, and offer fast and efficient responses in terms of housing and productive spaces.

The plant, strategically located on the Ruta 5 Sur, has the capacity to produce 400 modules annually and focuses on hiring local labor. Occupying a 4.44-hectare site, with 2.88 already operational, the plant features diversified production lines, including social housing and work modules. BIM technology is a key piece in its operation, ensuring precision in design and construction. Furthermore, the installation of 400 solar panels is planned for 2026, reaffirming the commitment to sustainability.

Public Sector Appraisal

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Carlos Montes, highlighted the importance of the plant for the country's housing policy, especially for low-income sectors. The plant is not only the first certified in the region but will also strengthen the supply of housing solutions. For her part, the Presidential Delegate, Paulina Muñoz, emphasized the advances in employment and innovation that the plant will bring to the region, as well as the improvement in response times for families awaiting housing.

La Chacra Project: The First to Benefit

The "La Chacra" housing complex in Castro, Chiloé, will be the first beneficiary of the plant's production. Intended for 600 families, this project is the largest social housing development in the province and will be built with 704 modules produced by the new plant. Industrialized construction will allow for a reduction in execution times and the standardization of processes, marking a before and after in the construction of social housing in Chile.

The inauguration of this plant not only represents a technological and productive advance for the region but is also a clear example of how innovation in construction can have a positive social impact, offering quality housing solutions and generating local employment.
