Eugenio Sanfuentes Re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Sciences at UdeC
The Faculty of Forestry Sciences (FCF) at the University of Concepción has re-elected Eugenio Sanfuentes as Dean for the 2026-2028 term, marking the beginning of a new stage of academic and professional development.
During his acceptance speech, Sanfuentes emphasized the importance of collaboration and the joint effort of vice-deans, academic secretaries, department and postgraduate directors, program heads, committee and commission coordinators, as well as administrative and technical staff. All of them have been fundamental in achieving the proposed objectives and will be key players in the upcoming challenges.
Sanfuentes also highlighted the relevance of continuing the development of the Faculty, not only in academic terms but also in its contribution to society and the environment.
The new Strategic Plan of the Faculty, to be implemented during his tenure, will establish guidelines in teaching, research, and community engagement, aiming to enhance the growth and positive influence of the institution in its environment.
This plan not only seeks to maintain the level of excellence achieved by the FCF but also to elevate it, ensuring that the trained professionals are up to current and future challenges, with a strong emphasis on social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
To conclude, the dean reiterated his gratitude for the opportunity to continue contributing to the Faculty's progress and reaffirmed his commitment to leadership that promotes innovation, inclusion, and responsibility in all spheres of action of the FCF.
