Hooded Assailants Attack and Burn CMPC Truck in La Araucanía
In a new episode of violence in the La Araucanía region, at least four hooded and armed individuals carried out an arson attack on Saturday morning. The target was a truck providing services to the CMPC company, which was completely destroyed following the incident.
The attack occurred in the Curaco sector around 07:00 hours, when the assailants intercepted the vehicle, threatened its occupants, and forced them to abandon it before setting it on fire.
The Public Ministry has taken action, instructing the involvement of the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Investigative Police (PDI) to investigate the event. Experts at the scene are seeking to gather evidence that could clarify the dynamics of the attack and the possible involvement of other individuals.
This incident adds to a series of violent acts that have affected the region, many of which have been targeted against vehicles and machinery of forestry companies or contractors.
The ongoing criminal investigation aims to determine if there is a connection between this and other similar attacks, with the hope of identifying those responsible and halting the wave of violence plaguing La Araucanía.
The situation in the region remains critical, and this latest arson attack only serves as a reminder of the urgency to find lasting solutions to the conflicts affecting the area. Meanwhile, authorities continue to work to ensure security and bring to justice those who perpetrate these acts of intimidation and destruction.
