A new anti-terrorism law is available to be used in the event of incidents classified under this regulation, and the Association of Forestry Contractors hopes it will be utilized rather than left unused.

This was stated by the association's manager, René Muñoz, who urged not only the government to invoke it when necessary but also the prosecutors investigating acts of violence in the southern macrozone and the actions of radical groups.

When asked, the presidential delegate in the Biobío region, Eduardo Pacheco, said that invoking the new anti-terrorism law depends on legal teams and their assessment of potential violent incidents.

The Regional Governor of Biobío, Sergio Giacaman, hopes the new regulation will be used, as that was its purpose. However, he emphasized the need for progress in critical infrastructure as well.

It is worth recalling that in past incidents classified as terrorist acts by the government itself, such as the attack on the Grollmus Mill, the old anti-terrorism law was not invoked. Authorities argued that filing charges for arson and severe injuries was more effective to secure harsher penalties.
