In the competitive forestry sector, the Brazilian company Manos has established itself as a leader in manufacturing truck trailers used in the industry.

With a 36% market share in Brazil in 2024, the company has experienced significant growth in recent years, standing out for the quality and innovation of its products. Its recent expansion into Chile reflects the importance of this market at a continental and global level within the forestry sector.

The Rise in Brazil

Kimio Mori, Commercial Manager of Manos, who visited the Biobío Region and met with various forestry companies alongside Gustavo Henrique Cesca, explained that since its restructuring in 2019—when brothers Gustavo and Guilherme Cesca took control and ownership of the company—Manos has focused exclusively on manufacturing forestry trailers.

"Thanks to this strategy, in just four years, we managed to position ourselves as the leading manufacturer of these equipment in Brazil. The key to success lies in adapting to the specific needs of clients, developing customized and highly efficient solutions," said Mori. Along with executives from Manos Brazil and Chile, he delivered three semi-trailers to Grupo JCS, which provides services to Arauco and CMPC.

One of the most relevant indicators of its leadership comes from Brazil's national registry, where each manufacturer records sold equipment, allowing the company to measure its market share accurately. According to this data, Manos has maintained a 36% market share, solidifying its dominance in the sector.

International Expansion

Over the past two years, Mori stated that Manos has begun its internationalization process by opening distributors in Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In Chile, the company has found a market with great opportunities due to heavy investment in the forestry industry and the presence of globally renowned companies like Arauco and CMPC, both Manos clients in Brazil.

Chile has historically been a benchmark for forestry technology in South America. Events like the Expocorma fair have served as business platforms, where Manos first made contact with the country. Additionally, Chile's challenging geography, with forests located in mountainous areas, has pushed the company to adapt by developing lighter, more durable, and safer equipment.

Challenges and Projections

Since its arrival two years ago, Mori noted that Manos has followed a strategy similar to the one used in Brazil: identifying market needs, developing products tailored to customer demands, testing them before large-scale commercialization, and offering high-level after-sales service. Furthermore, the company's goal in Chile is not solely to achieve top sales but to position itself as a benchmark for innovative solutions in the forestry industry.

As demand for efficient and sustainable technologies grows in the sector, Manos is in a privileged position to expand its presence in Chile and other South American markets. The experience gained in Brazil, combined with its focus on customized product development, will enable it to continue growing and consolidating its leadership in the region.

Manos' commitment to Chile reaffirms the importance of this market in the global forestry industry and marks the beginning of a new growth phase for the company in Latin America, concluded Mori.
