Attack Left 4 Machines Destroyed in Los Sauces
The tranquility of the commune of Los Sauces was interrupted this morning by a violent attack that resulted in the destruction of two backhoes and two other forestry machines belonging to a CMPC contractor company. According to testimonies, the attack was carried out by three armed and hooded individuals, who proceeded to set the machines on fire and steal two pickup trucks from the site.
This incident marks the fourth attack of the year 2025 in the La Araucanía Region and is recorded as the 500th since 2014, according to figures provided by the Association of Forestry Contractors. The series of attacks has created an atmosphere of tension and concern among workers and companies in the forestry sector, who see their safety and operational continuity threatened.
