Forest fire continues to rage in Lanalhue: 10 simultaneous hotspots reported
Emergency teams have been battling a forest fire for over 25 hours in the area of Lake Lanalhue in Cañete, in the Bío Bío region.
So far, the fire has consumed more than 120 hectares.
This emergency began at the San Carlos estate and later spread to the neighboring property Lanalhue, owned by Mininco.
Ground crews from the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf) and the company Mininco are fighting the flames, supported by aerial resources.
According to information gathered by Radio Bío Bío, 10 fire hotspots may have ignited simultaneously.
The crews are protected by the Navy and Carabineros to carry out their work in containing and extinguishing the fire.
