Hooded Gunmen Again Repel Prosecutor's Office and Police with Gunfire Upon Arrival at Pablo Marchant's Grave
Once again, hooded individuals greeted with gunfire the delegation led by the Public Prosecutor's Office and police forces attempting to exhume for the second time the remains of Pablo Marchant, a former member of the Arauco Malleco Coordinating Group (CAM).
According to La Radio, the group—which also includes Public Order Control personnel and the PDI Homicide Brigade—entered the Pidenco Estate in the commune of Lumaco, where Marchant's remains are buried.
Shortly after, they reached the young man's gravesite, and upon arrival, they were repelled by gunfire from a group of hooded individuals.
As a result, the police contingent remains at the location with the objective of exhuming Pablo Marchant's body.
Additionally, traffic on the route between Lumaco and Capitán Pastene remains suspended for security reasons.
This measure aims to prevent civilians from being injured during the operation.
Pablo Marchant was killed in a confrontation with Carabineros following an arson attack on a forestry property on July 9, 2021, in Carahue.
Afterward, his remains were transported by CAM members to be buried on the land claimed by this radical organization.
