A hard blow to the country's forestry sector was announced this weekend after Forestal Trupán S.A., located in the commune of Tucapel, Biobío Region, made the decision to cease its operations.

Through a statement, the company reported that "it has made the difficult decision to temporarily close the operations of its sawmill. Work will remain active until April 30, 2025, the date on which our productive activities and sales will officially come to an end."

It added that this closure marks the end of an era but also the beginning of deep reflection on "our path and future. Over these years, we have built much more than business relationships: we have forged bonds of trust, respect, and collaboration that fill us with pride and gratitude."

"We sincerely thank every customer, supplier, and ally who trusted us. Your support has been the driving force that motivated us daily, and every project carried out has left an indelible mark on our history," the company stated.

It emphasized that this is not a goodbye, "and we hope it is a 'see you later.' With hope, we look forward, trusting that our paths will cross again, and we will have the opportunity to reunite to continue building a sustainable and opportunity-filled future together," the firm concluded.
