The owner of the transport company that was attacked in the commune of Lautaro told La Radio that there is no Rule of Law in La Araucanía and that it is no longer possible to work due to the violence faced by forestry contractors.

Luis Barrientos, owner of Transportes Mafercam, recounted to the radio station the nightmare he is living after the arson attack carried out by eight armed, hooded individuals at the Lorena estate in Lautaro, where they burned four trucks, an excavator, and a pickup truck.

The contractor, who clarified that they were exploiting a private forestry plot to sell wood to Forestal Bosques Cautín, stated that the State of Exception is not functioning in La Araucanía and detailed the violent actions of the armed group.

Barrientos stated that this arson attack caused losses exceeding $300 million but sees it as unlikely that the State will compensate for the damages.

In this incident, which occurred on Monday morning in the Brasil sector of Lautaro, Lautaro prosecutor Enrique Vásquez is investigating the crimes of illegal possession of firearms, arson, and unjustified shootings.
