138 Attacks in 3 Years: Forestry Contractors Still Unprotected

Three years after the implementation of the state of emergency exception, as Acoforag, we want to highlight that, from that date to the present, forestry contractors have been the target of 138 terrorist arson attacks, resulting in workers killed, injured, beaten, and kidnapped, as well as the destruction of 607 work equipment.

These repeated attacks, occurring in the same areas where the State has failed to intervene effectively or pursue those responsible, periodically endanger the health and lives of our workers, many of whom labor under constant threat.

We acknowledge that there has been a decrease in the frequency of attacks, but violent incidents have not ceased, and we continue to be victims of groups that operate with total impunity in territories that seem to have been abandoned by the State.

We demand to be heard and included in the decision-making processes regarding security measures that directly affect us. Real solutions cannot be advanced without the participation of those who endure the consequences of terrorist violence firsthand.
